Nick Castellanos continues to do more work as he recovers from an oblique strain. He could go to Triple-A Lehigh Valley this weekend for a quick rehab assignment. That would put him on track to return next week when the Phillies begin a season-ending road trip. Additionally, Zach Eflin's status is in question because he had some back spasms that prevented him from pitching over the weekend.

The Phillies are hopeful Rhys Hoskins will return to the lineup Sunday against the Braves and their hard-throwing righty Spencer Strider. Hoskins said the swelling in his right arm has decreased and he took a bunch of swings in the cage Saturday. They could use him.

The Phillies have some notable players heading to the Arizona Fall League. Among them: Francisco Morales, Johan Rojas and Jhailyn Ortiz. Rojas has to be added to the 40-man roster this winter. Team officials are still bullish on Morales as a reliever but believe he needs more time to adapt to the role. Carlos De La Cruz, a hulking outfielder who has hit well at Double A, is going to Arizona too.
