What are the alabama colors

There are 2 colors in this state flag. These are Alabama Crimson (#B10021) and White (#FFFFFF).

This color combination was created by user Keshav Naidu. The Hex, RGB and CMYK codes are in the table below.

Today, we will take a look at the Alabama Crimson Tide team colors. Some people get confused because the University cites the official school colors as "crimson and white." That is true no doubt, but there is a little more to it.

What are the alabama colors

Color Name Pantone HEX RGB CMYK
CRIMSON PMS 201 C #9E1B32 (158, 27, 50) (25, 100, 79, 20)
GRAY PMS 430 C #828A8F (130, 138, 143) (52, 40, 37, 3)

There are actually three different colors that the University uses.

Alabama Crimson Tide 101

It’s no coincidence that the Alabama Crimson Tide has become one of the most consistently successful college football programs in the past decade.

In fact, Nick Saban’s team has finished first or second in the nation every year since 2009.

But the path leading to this remarkable run wasn’t easy — especially considering the team was picked to finish last in the Western Division of its own conference just three years before (one could argue that even more shocking than their last-place prediction was being given a trophy for coming in dead last).

History

It is hard to believe that this team has been playing college football for a total of 116 years.

The University of Alabama football team was not started until 1892 and it played sporadically over a span of 46 seasons before competing continuously from 1955 to 1989.

They have become one of the most successful programs in NCAA history thanks to Bear Bryant and his College Football Hall of Fame coaching career.

Crimson Tide are one of only four teams that have won three or more National Championships in four different decades.

The other three teams are the Nebraska Cornhuskers, Oklahoma Sooners and the USC Trojans.

Stadium

If you are a fan of college football, then you’ve probably heard of Bryant-Denny Stadium. It is home to the Alabama Crimson Tide where they play Southeastern Conference and national-level football.

This stadium has been on my bucket list for years and I finally got to see the stadium — in person, not on TV — during my recent vacation to Alaska, Charleston, and New Orleans.

Built in 1929, Bryant-Denny Stadium has stood the test of time as one of the most recognizable landmarks in all of college football.

In fact, Alabama was recently ranked as having the best college stadium atmosphere by Bleacher Report.

If you want a look at some of the most beautiful field views in the country, you don't even have to buy a ticket to an Alabama game here.

Best Players of All Time

Don Hutson

The wide receiver is arguably the most glamorous position on the field of play. Rarely are their efforts not noticed, attributed or credited in terms of the success of the team.

But 50 years before Jerry Rice changed the way that position was played, a little known basketball and track standout from a small West Texas college did it first at both the collegiate and professional levels.

Hutson rewrote the record book, rewriting almost every receiving record in the NFL (which was much different back then).

He set records in rushing yards, touchdown receptions, scoring, and most importantly, yardage - which stood untouched until 1989.

Amari Cooper

Just how dominant was Alabama wide receiver Amari Cooper last season.

The redshirt junior had three games with more than 200 yards receiving as he finished on top of the Southeastern Conference in almost every major receiving category – yards (1,727), receptions (115) and touchdowns (16).

It also allowed him to be named a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award as well as a semifinalist for the Maxwell Award, both given annually to college football’s top player.

Lee Roy Jordan

While there have been numerous Crimson Tide players who have placed high in the voting for the Heisman Trophy, one of the most impressive was Lee Roy Jordan’s fourth-place showing in 1962 as a center and linebacker.

The third best defensive player behind Nick Buoniconti at Boston College and Dick Butkus at Illinois, Jordan would have won the award if it were not for Yale’s Gary Hook being a place kicker as well.

Derrick Henry

Derrick Henry broke the mold in 2015. He was the only SEC running back to rush for 100 yards in five games.

That's right, five of the 11 games Henry played this season, he rushed for at least 100 yards.

In the history of the SEC, that feat has been accomplished by only nine other backs; Herschel Walker, Bo Jackson, Eric Zeier (twice), Boobie Clark, Darren McFadden, Greg Hill, Cam Newton and Todd Gurley.

Derrick Thomas

Derrick was not only a sack machine, but he was equally as effective in run support.

No, that wasn't a typo, Derrick Thomas led the SEC in tackles his sophomore and junior seasons (1986 and 1987)!

That's right, Derrick Thomas finished second in the conference with 100 total tackles in 1988.
