Tinder is an online dating application, which has been proven very effective; even celebrities have been able to find a match on the app. Tinder allows users to locate other singles on the app looking for a partner in their geographic area, because let’s face it: long-distance can be tough. However, on Tinder, as well as online generally, people find it easy create fake accounts and often act inappropriately. Tinder announced a safety feature to avoid “catfishing”: a blue tick. Instagram and other social media platforms already have this feature for celebrities, but Tinder is stepping up the game, verifying all real users. What does the Blue Tick on Tinder mean?The blue tick on Tinder means that the profile who has a blue checkmark has been verified by Tinder’s community team as a real profile. This feature will protect Tinder users from potentially offensive messages, from fake accounts and completely different people, than the ones in the pictures, showing up on dates. Tinder is also partnering with Noonlight to provide on-call emergency service assistance to its users. For example, if a celebrity on Tinder messages you, if they don’t have a blue tick by their name, report them; it’s a fake account. Tap on the grey checkmark by your name and select “verify your profile”. Then, you’ll be shown a pose and Tinder will ask you to copy it by taking a selfie. After you have taken the picture, confirm that your selfie matched the pose and click “submit for review”. The Tinder community team will make the final decision and give you a blue tick if they reckon that your profile belongs to the one it actually says it does. Profile screenThis is the screen that shows the details / Photos of each person near you. There are 10 Icons, buttons and symbols present on this screen. Lets start from the Top left & move downwards: – Person icon ( Present on the top left corner ) T aping on this icon takes you to your profile Dashboard ( From where you can navigate to other settings screens like Preferences screen, Upgrade to Tinder Plus screen etc. ). To go back to the encounters screen ie. The screen checkout more profiles. You need to tap on the Gray flame icon on the Top again.– Flame icon ( Present on the top center ) Wh ile you are on the Encounters page, this icon is not useful. But as mentioned in the earlier point. When you are out of the encounters page and lost inside the app, tapping on this flame icon will bring you back to the encounters screen instantly. This is one the very useful Tinder icons.– Group of people icon ( Present on the top center – near the Flame icon ) Ta ping on this icon takes you from the normal Dating mode [] to the Social mode []. Or else its irreversible 🙁– Purple Lightning Bolt Boost icon ( Present at the bottom center ) T his bolt like purple Tinder icon is meant to Boost your presence in your area. But yes, as you guessed this Tinder icon is for liking profiles. It has the same effect as swiping right. It is the opposite of the X icon. Once you have liked a person, you cant undo it unless you have Tinder Plus.– Tinder Yellow Heart icon ( a speeding yellow heart like icon ) This means the other person has liked you using Tinder Gold paid membership. Yes, this yellow or golden Tinder heart means the opposite party is pretty serious and sort of desperate 🙂 – Blue Super Like Tinder Icon meaning ( A Star like icon present at bottom right ) Use this icon when you are desperate. This is called the SUPER LIKE icon & when tap on it, Tinder sends a nudge to the person saying that you are super interested on the person. There are certain number of Super Like’s free every month.
